Creating Your Own Business A+AZ+A-Based Products Usingthe APA Paper Example

Creating Your Own Business A+AZ+A-Based Products Usingthe APA Paper ExampleIf you want to learn how to create your own A-to-Z A+AZ+A-based products, then this article will show you how to use the APA model. Instead of using a standard inventory system or table to keep track of your products, you should use a database that has all the information you need, without all the messy details. By using a multi-part model you can keep track of everything that needs to be tracked in a clear and concise manner.A model like this one is only a small part of the accounting process. An A+AZ system works together with a wide variety of other systems, but it only takes a few pieces to make an entire company function smoothly. This particular system allows you to keep track of every aspect of a product's life cycle: production, delivery, and sales. Any time a customer makes a purchase of a product, you will know about it in real time. You can keep tabs on them all through one software tool.It can be a very frustrating experience to deal with information overload at any point in time. When this happens, the key is to simplify the process of collecting data and organizing it in the most efficient way possible. You will want to hire a reliable consulting firm that specializes in cross-functional applications and accounting packages. These professionals will help you design a unique solution that will take the strain out of your accounting work and put it on to the systems you have created. This will allow you to focus on what really matters, which is providing your customers with high quality customer service. For most businesses, customer service is their bread and butter. However, in today's world, customer service has become a secondary issue to the ability to sell a product. By integrating the APA model, you will have a comprehensive solution to the problem of customer retention. In today'world, customers are just as valuable as any other resource, such as time, talent, and capit al. Through a well-designed payroll or tax system, you can track all the people who are working for your business. This is the only way you can ensure they are being paid the appropriate salaries and taxes.Management and executives often find it to be a difficult task to gain the confidence of customers. However, when they do, it is because they understand that they are part of a larger team. Having a large team of people dedicated to your customer support is one of the most important things you can do for your business. This allows them to grow their relationships with clients and make a long-term impact on your business. In order to do this, however, you will have to integrate your workforce into your business software, and the best way to do this is with the APA paper example. In Texas, Austin-Mall is a rapidly growing chain of retail stores that offer everything from apparel to fine dining. This retail chain provides customers with great prices, but at the same time they provide excellent customer service. The process of gaining the trust of their customers begins with their understanding of the way they treat them. Because the APA model was designed to work together with other corporate software, it is capable of combining the three aspects of customer service.Product development is another process that has seen a dramatic rise in the last decade. Companies are increasingly looking for new ways to market their products. While this form of marketing is always important, it is a must when the demand for the product is very high. The first step to maximizing this form of marketing is by investing in a quality product, and the APA paper example helps you find them. The next step is to get as many people as possible to test the product, and the APA software helps you to do this effectively.

Analysis of Emily Dickinsons Because I Could Not Stop...

Analysis of Emily Dickinsons Because I Could Not Stop for Death In regard to Emily Dickinson’s poem, â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop for Death,† Critic Eunice Glenn says: â€Å"In the first two lines Death, personified as a carriage driver, stops for one who could not stop for him. The word ‘kindly’ is particularly meaningful, for it instantly characterizes Death. This comes with surprise, too, since death is more often considered grim and terrible† (Glenn). Critic Charles R. Anderson says, â€Å"Death, usually rude, sudden, and impersonal, has been transformed into a kindly and leisurely gentleman† (Anderson). Both critics seem to agree on the significance of the word â€Å"kindly† in the first two lines of the poem. â€Å"Because I could†¦show more content†¦Critic Patricia Engle, on the other hand, looks further and asks, â€Å"What does the speaker—or anyone—stop doing for Death?† Answering her own question, Engle says: â€Å"We stop living.† In order to illustrate her point, she goes on to say, in reference to the speaker of the poem, â€Å"She realizes that she cannot recognize Death’s power over her. Once she reckons with that eternal or divine bent within her, Death stops; that is, Death ceases to be what Death is—an end† (Engle 74). Given deeper analysis of the poem as a whole, this interpretation appears to be the most accurate. Death is not the final stopping point for our speaker. The carriage only â€Å"paused† at the grave (17). â€Å"The Horses’ Heads / Were toward Eternity—â € (23-24). The poem suggests that death was not meant to be an end—human existence will go on for eternity. This accounts for the third, often overlooked, passenger in the carriage—â€Å"Immortality† (4). Mortals don’t stop for death—death stops for them. Death gives way to immortality, and thus, stops being an end. Even if she had wanted to, the speaker could not have stopped for Death. The grave is merely a brief pause on the journey toward Eternity. Dickinson had a definite purpose when she chose to personify death as a carriage driver. Looseness In The Skin Of A Lion By Michael Ondaatje Essay Example For Students

Looseness In The Skin Of A Lion By Michael Ondaatje Essay Looseness ?In The Skin Of A Lion? By Michael OndaatjeLet me now re-emphasise the extreme looseness of the structure of all objects How Ondaatje makes use of loosness in the novel. In ?In The Skin Of A Lion? by Michael Ondaatje, ?the extreme looseness of the structure of all objects? is carried into the themes, characters and into the nature of the novel itself. Ondaatje uses a ?looseness? in the style of the novel post modernism, and ?looseness of structure? in the way that people are able to stretch and expand their boundaries: transform or mask themselves into someone not typical of their social group. We will write a custom essay on Looseness In The Skin Of A Lion By Michael Ondaatje specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now This novel was written in the late 1980s and is classified as a post-modern work. Essentially, ?In The Skin Of A Lion? has many traits of a post-modern novel, it deals with chaos and order, has multi-layered interpretations, provokes an ambiguous and mixed reaction from the reader, and has varied approaches to the conventional storyline; beginning, exposition, and closure. There are liberties taken with the time structure of the narrative. The story itself is like a ?mural, falling together of accomplices.? Ondaatje tells of ordinary people whos stories interlock and intersect, with many ?fragments of human order?. Ondaatje does not tell the stories loosely and scattered with no real purpose in mind, he employs recurring images and motifs, for e.g. moths and insects, feldspar. This is to provide continuity and relevance, and helps him to give a view on the untold history of Toronto. An emphasis is placed on the story that comes from different viewpoints and angles the ?chaos?, and then structures it so that its order of history is ?very faint, very human? as opposed to official histories. It takes every single word from the first page to the last, in order to make sense of the meanings, which ?travel languorously like messages in a bottle?. The novels storyline is not linear, it slides from one character to the next, then slips and loses itself in the time that it created, ?five years earlier, or ten years into the f uture? The prologue only makes sense once the end is reached, and the bits in between all mingle and melt into one another until most of the completed narrative is achieved. In fact, it takes a few good readings to pick up the events and stitch them together to create order, and only then are the meanings apparent. ?Meander if you want to get to town?. Even when the book is finished, there is no distinct closure and finality of the narrative; the story itself is in the process of being told. ?This is a story a young girl gathers in a car, and in that same way, it tells of how that car trip started, so the tale backs up on itself. The novel constantly brings attention that it itself is a work of fiction. There are constant references to art, music, drama, film, photography, and literature, as well as devices used ?You reach people through metaphor?. It implies that it is a creation, ?Only the best art can order the chaotic tumble of events..? and even ?The first sentence of every novel should be. Authors, painters, singers and actors all feature highly in a book about peoples creation of their lives and history. Ondaatjes language in the novel borders on poetry. Imagery, figurative language and emotive words abound whenever he is being descriptive, or making a point. The second paragraph at the beginning of ?Caravaggio?, ?by noon onto the blue metal?, has a certain rhythm in the words and sentences, ?Taking an innocent step/He would fall through the air and die?, ?joined by a rope one on each slope?, that somewhat mirrors lines in poetry. Poetic devices are in the scene of the puppet-show. Similes ?Machine locked in habit?, economic use of words ?exhausted statuary?, and repetition ?There. There. There? effectively convey a vivid image to the reader. .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .postImageUrl , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:hover , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:visited , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:active { border:0!important; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:active , .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uf1d2319e6da469deeac939ccc53d168d:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Love Essay ThesisThere is not just flexibility in the structure of the novel and how it is written, it is also carried into themes. One of the issues deals with the looseness of boundaries, especially the boundaries of stereotype and class, ?Gestures, and work and bloodline are the only currency?. This attitude is one that Ondaatje aims to challenge in the novel. Boundaries could be physical, e.g. the bridge with the ?lanterns tracing outlines?. This kind is symbolical, the nun loses the boundaries and falls over into a new existence. She takes on a new character and her past life is obliterated, just by having stretched her boundaries. Boundaries could be somewhat physical, in the mental sense. When Patrick sees the loggers skate across ice holding fires, ?his mind raced ahead of his body.? i.e. he has been exposed to a realisation outside of his world. Language and people often have barriers to cross, they ?br through chrysalis into language? and by doing so, the structures of their world changes. Patrick finally breaks through his isolation when he reaches out to communicate with Elena and the Macedonians. He gained new friends, was admired and had to learn a new culture. In this way Ondaatje expresses how life can change from extreme to extreme, just by stretching and expanding boundaries. There is an insinuation throughout the book of the superficiality of constraints. In many examples through the book, Ondaatje lets us see how the ?extreme looseness? is carried into role playing. Alice is a mother, a political activist, a lover, and an actress, all at once, and yet is the same being. The dyers ?leapt into different colours as if into different countries?, but the colour was disrobed from them in a matter of minutes. Of course, the smell has permeated their body eternally, perhaps symbolising that once a role is played, it rema ins with you forever. When first becoming a ?searcher, the experience remained with Patrick, ?a searcher gazing into the darkness of his own country?, searching for how to relate to the people around him and what his place was in his country. So there is the significance of how loose boundaries and social casting can be, and how life can oscillate from extreme to extreme. Structures such as bridges and waterways also have a ?loose? quality, in that its significance is past its physical state. In many instances in this novel, Toronto infrastructure is symbolic of the work achieved by the builders, and how it exists because of the sacrifice of immigrant workers. In The Skin Of A Lion is not just a book based on looseness. Although it creates looseness by its poetic devices, the non-linear time structure and the post-modern nature of the novel, there is nothing loose about Ondaatjes story-telling. There are constant ties and recurrent images in the narrative, and even if the sequence of the events are not in chronological order, there is no doubt that every significant event has been covered and cross-referenced. All these literary devices contribute to the effect of looseness in the way the novel is written. This is reflect ive of the themes, in that historys interpretation can be loosened. There is extreme looseness in the meaning of events to the people who built Toronto in comparison to the official histories, and the symbolic natures of the structure of all objects in the novel. Pricing Gouging Is it Justifiable

Essay Proposal Calamities leave terrible and remarkable damages on people who are afflicted by them. Hurricane Sandy was particularly devastating to northeast residents in New Jersey. Apart from the conspicuous financial and personal damages left behind by disastrous emergencies, they also provoked political and bad economic grandstanding.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Pricing Gouging: Is it Justifiable? specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Any person who follows such grandstanding wonders whether it is fair for businesses- from those dealing with consumables to gas stations- to spontaneously hike their prices to earn windfall profits at the advantage of desperation of disaster-afflicted customers. Many will perhaps say no to the query especially those caught at the middle of the hurricane sandy, as price gouging not only seems illegal but also unethical. Chris Christie, the New Jersey governor, was concer ned that not all people in New Jersey held the above position. He warned that price gouging in the event of a disaster like hurricane sandy was illegal and one that attracted heavy penalties to culprits. Similar to the warnings issued by Chris Christie, Schneiderman, a New York based Antony, lamented that people need to look out for one another during emergencies. Conceptualization of these lamentations creates an impression that price gouging is morally unethical. Unfortunately, this may not be the position for Keynesian economists. While some people like Chris Christie and Schneiderman may see price gouging in event of a disaster as a wrong profiteering endeavor, to these groups of economists, sudden price hike is merely one of the ways of realizing balance between demand and supply. Hence, price gouging is not wrong since it is simply an application of laws of demand and supply. Considering the opposing positions of price gouging, this paper proposes to question whether indeed pr ice gouging is right or wrong and whether it is just. Particular focus of the research paper will be dedicated to introspection of the perception of the business owners on the purpose for existence of their businesses especially on aspects of profit making endeavors showing how such perceptions relate to price gouging. In the effort to deliver a research based on scholarly evidence, discussion of price gouging is based on various scholarly views of people on what constitutes justice. The essay will first lay fundamental grounds of research by discussing first what is right or wrong from the context of Sandel’s work: Justice: What’s the right thing to do? The essay will then proceed to discuss Libertarianism view of price gouging followed by Utilitarianism view of the same. Finally, Kantian perspectives on price gouging will be considered. The author attempts to engage with difficult political philosophical issues in an open and honest manner. He argues that justice, as a chief determinant of what is rights or wrong to do is concerned with values, which are central to politics of states coupled with the law. His discussion of justice is limited to pluralistic societies forming western civilizations. He does this through a balanced discussion of a three-facet approach to justice. These facets are communitarian, utilitarian, and libertarian dimensions of justice. Sandel does not contend with the arguments of these alternative justice theories. Rather, he engages criticism and commentaries whenever appropriate. Criticism is the main methodology used to provide a balanced view of justice from the three theories. Sandel begins by outlining Jeremy Bentham’s utilitarianism theory followed by its criticism in the context of the refinements to the theory as postulated by John Stuart. He then proceeds to scrutinize Robert Nozick’s Libertarian’s approach to justice followed by Immanual Kant’s categorical imperatives. Upon discussing the work of John Rawl and the concept of telos, which was raised by Aristotle, he begins to bring into lime light his own views on justice. He maintains that, opposed to the view of justice as being autonomous, as Rawlsians and Kantians would suggest, it has a purpose and goals. Now, Sandel makes it clear that justice serves to limit certain actions of individual in the society: a view adopted by communitarians. Wolff, Jonathan. â€Å"Libertarianism, utility, and economic competition.† Virginal Law Journal 92.1(2006): 1605-1623. Print. Jonathan Wolff discusses the characteristics of liberaltarianism coupled with foundation that ancho rs it. He argues that libertarianism is anchored on the ideas of â€Å"minimal state, restricted to narrow functions of protecting citizens from each other (and for non citizens), and providing for the enforcement of private contracts† (Wolff 1605).Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Pricing Gouging: Is it Justifiable? specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More To him, this argument implies that libertarians presume that freedom from the state rules is accompanied by economic institution driven by perspectives of pure capitalism, which includes strong rights of private property. This presumption helps to permit free competition among all potential goods and service producers. The article then proceeds to discuss two forms of libertarianism: deontological and consequential libertarianism. Wolff relates these types of libertarianism with theory of justice by claiming that libertarianism is based on â€Å"a str ict doctrine of natural rights, violation of which is never permitted whatever consequences† (Wolff 1605). If free market operation encompasses one of the elements that are protected by universal chords of freedom, based on the argument that people have the right to buy whatever on offer at any price or not, it sounds appropriate for price gouging to occur during periods of shortages. This would permit freedom of operation of market forces of demand and supply without state interference as Wolff Jonathan suggests in his approach to libertarianism. Hart, Caroline. â€Å"The Capability Space and New Directions for the Philosophy of Educational Research.† Studies in Philosophy Education, 28.2 (2009) 391–402. Print. This article introduces capability approach as a new approach of evaluating justice based on perspectives of individual wellbeing. The author argues that this approach diverges from the traditional approach of utilitarian view. He asserts, â€Å"instead of measuring well-being based on the accumulation of wealth and resources by individuals and nations, the capability approach focuses on the opportunities (capabilities) an individual has to choose and pursue a life they have a reason to value† (Hart 391). She claims that, opposed to the approach of utilitarian which views justice as driven by normative ethics, which hold justifiable actions as those which foster maximization of utility through maximization of happiness and reduction in suffering, his capability approach views actions that foster good life for all and hence enabling human life to flourish as being justifiable. The question that remains is, ‘Does price gouging promote happiness and reduce suffering for all people afflicted by disasters?’ From the discussion of utilitarian as offered by Caroline Hart, price gouging is nothing less than a mechanism of reducing equality among people. This claim perhaps may justify consideration of price gouging as ill egal meaning that it is punishable by law. In this end, the law is a tool for enhancing justice for all.Advertising Looking for research paper on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! In the article, Cheng evaluates and critics Kant’s principles of justice. According to Cheng, â€Å"†¦duty to respect rights of others is the foundation of justice or equity† (345). In this sense, justice accrues from respecting other people’s perceived rights. While maintaining that justice is the foundation of Kant’s theory, Cheng says that generosity is not a requirement for justice nor should it have any role to play in justice. In the context of the proposed research, price gouging may be seen from the context of Cheng’s work as unjust since it denies some people especially those who are less economically endowed in terms of their rights to consume products when prices escalate beyond levels, which they can afford. On the other hand, maintaining low prices for products yet their supply is low makes a business owner sacrifice an opportunity for making more profit. Hence, retaining low prices implies that the business owner is more generous. This issue raises the dilemmas of what the right thing to do entails. The Essay Is price gouging justifiable? The term Price gouging may be used in a variety of ways. In the casual sense, it means the rising of prices of service and goods to levels considered as unfair especially to the less economically endowed persons. In the legal sense, the term refers to the laws against taking economic advantage of people upon the occurrence of emergencies. This kind of price gouging may occur, for instance, when a disaster like a hurricane strikes destroying many business premises leaving behind few of them so that demand of commodities increases. In the effort to meet the increased demand, business premise owners, for example, shop owners hike prices of the commodities. However, is this strategy the right thing to do? The overall focus of the essay is to provid e a response to this query by exploring Libertarianism, utilitarianism views on price gouging, and Kantian perspectives on the same. What is the right thing to do? Opposing the views of Libertarianism, Utilitarianism, and Kantian notions on justice makes the dilemma discussed by Sandel in his work Justice: What’s the right thing to do even more amplified when the work is interpreted in the context of price gouging. The idea of dismissal of price gouging during periods of high demand in comparison to supply in the occurrence of disasters such as hurricane sandy as inappropriate is pegged on the perception and premise that people who sale goods at the escalated prices above ‘normal’ are immoral capitalists. These people focus on taking advantage of people during times in which they are living below their means. From the utilitarian positions, the most appropriate ethical action is the one which â€Å"provides the most good or does the least harm, or, to put it ano ther way, produces the greatest balance of good over harm† (Wolff 1611). In the context of price gouging, the right thing to do is to set and maintain prices of commodities in a manner that ensures that they produce the utmost good and or do the least harm to persons afflicted by disaster-customers. This argument would mean that customers would have to compete in buying products whose supply is limited. The repercussion of approaching the challenge of price gouging from the above perspective is that some people who have the capability and are willing to purchase certain amounts of products are not offered the right to do so by virtue of the fact that enough products will not be available in the market. Hence, applying utilitarianism to justify the inappropriateness of price gouging suffers especially if justice is considered a way of ensuring that all people have their rights protected. While the utilitarian would take price gouging as unethical and immoral, libertarians would consider states’ interventions to criminalize price gouging as not justified, and hence inappropriate. Libertarians â€Å"argue for the free market and strong individual rights to property, not based on an antecedent theory of justice, but in terms of the beneficial consequences such as wealth creation and efficiency that such arrangements may bring† (Wolff 1607). Therefore, the right thing to do is to permit free operation of principles of demand and supply. During the times of need, demand must go up. Prices must also go up to ensure that people have accessibility to products depending on the extent and magnitude they need them. This strategy is perhaps not the right thing to do based on the utilitarian positions since it appears to foster growth of massive exploitation of needy people by capitalist. However, it qualifies to be the right thing to do since it also ensures service delivery to other people who actually need them more. People inclined to the libertarian perspective of thinking would defend price gouging since, for instance, if the price of gasoline selling at $3 per gallon remains at the same price during the times of shortage, the market would remain open to persons who actually need it less. For instance, a person wishing to power a generator so that he or she can sell other products to needy persons will have to compete equally for the limited supplies of gasoline as anybody else would. Consequently, failing to permit market to operate freely will lead to influencing negatively other areas of service delivery. This argument correlates with the Kant’s perception of justice as argued by Cheng, â€Å"we should Know our rights and rights of others so that we can render to others what we owe to them and let others render to us what they owe to us† (346). In the example of price gouging with respect to the price of gasoline in the event of an emergency, the right thing to do is to permit the operation of the fuel market in a manner that will ensure that all people benefit. From the Keynesian perspective, this case cannot happen if the balance of demand and supply is interfered with through state interventions. Raising the prices of goods and services when people are in desperation is considered illegal in many nations. However, looking at it from the angle that the right thing to do is the one, which delivers utmost good to all people, price gouging is necessary. In fact, people being driven by their capitalist interests in the occurrence of disasters will risk taking goods and services to disaster-stricken areas in the quest to earn above ‘normal’ profits. In the process, supply would exceed the demand. From the economic perspective, prices have to come down. Consequently, price gouging helps to bring normalcy fast in disaster stricken areas. If this case would ensure that people obtain utmost good from the market fast enough, from utilitarian and libertarian perspectives, price goug ing is appropriate after disasters strike. The Classical Definition of a Tyrant

The Classical Definition of a Tyrant A tyrant- also known as a basileus or king- in ancient Greece meant something different from our modern concept of a  tyrant as simply a cruel and oppressive despot. A tyrant was little more than an autocrat or leader who had overturned an existing regime of a Greek polis and was, therefore, an illegitimate ruler, a usurper. They even had some measure of popular support, according to Aristotle. Before Turannoi Were Tyrants: Rethinking a Chapter of Early Greek History, by Greg Anderson, suggests that because of this confusion with modern tyranny, the perfectly good Greek word should be removed from scholarship on early Greece. Peisistratus (Pisistratus) was one of the most famous of the Athenian tyrants. It was after the fall of the sons of Peisistratus that Cleisthenes and democracy came to Athens. Aristotle and Tyrants In his article, The First Tyrants in Greece, Robert Drews paraphrases Aristotle as saying that the tyrant was a degenerate type of monarch who came to power because of how insufferable the aristocracy was. The people of the demos, fed up, found a tyrant to champion them. Drews adds that the tyrant himself had to be ambitious, possessing the Greek concept of philotimia, which he describes as the  desire for power and prestige. This quality is also common to the modern version of the self-serving tyrant. Tyrants were sometimes preferred to aristocrats and kings. The article, ÃŽ ¤Ã Ã ÃŽ ±ÃŽ ½ÃŽ ½ÃŽ ¿Ãâ€š. The Semantics of a Political Concept from Archilochus to Aristotle, by Victor Parker says the first use of the term tyrant comes from the mid-seventh century B.C., and the first negative use of the term, about a half-century later or perhaps as late as the second quarter of the sixth. Kings vs. Tyrants A tyrant could also be a leader who ruled without having inherited the throne; thus, Oedipus marries Jocasta to become tyrant of Thebes, but in reality, he is the legitimate heir to the throne: the king (basileus). Parker says the use of tyrannos is common to a  tragedy in preference to basileus, generally synonymously, but sometimes negatively. Sophocles writes that hubris begets a tyrant or tyranny begets hubris. Parker adds that for Herodotus, the term tyrant and basileus are applied to the same individuals, although Thucydides (and Xenophon, on the whole) distinguishes them along the same lines of legitimacy as we do. Greg Anderson argues that before the 6th century there was no difference between the tyrannos or tyrant and the legitimate oligarchic ruler, both aiming to dominate but not subvert the existing government. He says that the construct of the age of tyrant was a figment of the late archaic imagination. Organisational Change Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words - 2

Organisational Change - Essay Example St. Mungo’s is a reputed charity that works for the vulnerable individual of the society. The employees engaged within St. Mungo’s are highly experienced and loyal towards the activities of the organisation. However, with the recent merger of St. Mungo’s with Broadway, the reliability and dependability of the employees declined and it affected the position of the organisation significantly. The employees called for a strike and it declined the success rate of the organisation in the upcoming days as compared to other competitors. The prime cause for the strike is the pay cut of the loyal and existing employees of St. Mungo’s. The non-monetary benefits that the employees received from the organisation are also restricted by the senior management with the help of reorganisation and hence, it proved negative for the employees. However, the restrictions are mainly applicable for the employees of St. Mungo’s and not for the Broadway staff. This is the ma in key reason that increased the anger of the employees of St. Mungo’s and hence, it resulted in the commencement of a strike (Kotter and Schlesinger, 2007). There are different types of organisational change that would be used by the managers to prevent the organisation from any sort of challenging situation. However, types of organisational change are segmented into two segments such as evolutionary and revolutionary change (Lewin, 2012). As per the view of Schein (2012), constant improvement may be possible only through evolutionary change.

Organizational behavior paper Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Organizational behavior paper - Essay Example People often work because they have to and for money. To be a better manager, it is significant to understand what motivates employees to maximize output. Douglas Mc Gregor uses Theory X and Y to explain the human behavior in the workplace (The Wall Street Journal editors, 2015). In Theory X assumptions, human being has an inherent dislike for work and will evade if he can. Because of work dislike, most people must be coerced, directed, controlled and threatened to ensure they achieve organizational objectives. Besides, employees prefer to be directed, wish to avoid responsibility, have little ambition, and want security. However, in Theory Y assumptions, the expenses of mental and physical effort in work is as natural as rest and play. External influence or threat of punishment is not the only way of achieving effort toward organizational objectives. People have self-control and direction in meeting the objectives. Employees seek and accept responsibilities. Therefore, the aim of management should not be to direct and control employees seeking to shun work, but instead make conditions that enable people want to offer maximum effort. Rewarding employees for an achievement is an effective way to reinforce and share commitment rather than punishing them for failure. Giving responsibility enables employees to rise to challenge hence employee motivation influences organizational behavior thus

I’m accomplishment in getting a strong foundation in this course. This accomplishment is to understanding many areas covered in math, for examples: whole number, the LCM prime factorization, and simplifying the expressions, Bar graphs and line graphs, proportions, rates and unit prices and ratios, percent problems, using the equations, simple and compound interest. These are example I have achieved this school quarter. Discuss one or two topics or concepts that have been a struggle so far. The concepts that I have a struggle with this term start with rounding and estimating like for example, I would have something like maybe 47 but I know how you round to the closer which will be 50 and if the whole number is 1. The second concept I been struggle with has been simple and compound interest has been the worse. For example: If I had $1000 into and investment for 1 year. I learn the $1000 is called the principal. If the yearly interest rate is 8%, in addition to the principal, you get back 8% of the principal you get back 8% of the principal will be for the use of the money overtime. 8% of $1000 you can does like 0. 8 $1000 or $80. 00.
